In Peter Jailall’s latest poetry collection, he reflects on themes of nature, life and resilience.
As he explores complex areas such as human relationships and coping with loss, it is evident that writing is a form of meditation for him as he urges his readers to be mindful of the needs of others and ignite the unwavering human spirit within that unites us all.
Jailall writes, “These poems were written in the pandemic months between 2020 and 2021. During my time spent at home, writing was a therapeutic endeavour that helped me cope with feelings of isolation and uncertainty. Poetry and writing were the balm that soothed the scars of anxiety inflicted by COVID-19. When I was worried, afraid or lonely, writing poetry or in my journal gave me the courage to carry on living the best life possible during those trying times.”
